We're seeking an experienced Chief Data Architect with expertise in Snowflake to lead our team of data engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and optimizing data solutions while mentoring and guiding a small team of data professionals. They'll drive the architecture of end-to-end data solutions, ensuring alignment with business and technical goals.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Architect Data Solutions: Utilize Snowflake to create scalable, reliable, and efficient data solutions.
  • Lead Team Development: Guide data engineers in creating high-performance data pipelines using Snowflake, dbt, and other tools.
  • Develop and Manage dbt Models: Write, parameterize, and deploy models that align with architectural design.
  • Oversee Data Flow Concepts: Ensure architectural decisions meet both business and technical requirements.
  • Provide Technical Guidance: Lead design reviews to ensure solutions meet security, scalability, and performance requirements.
  • Implement CI/CD Practices: Streamline deployment, testing, and monitoring.
  • Write and Maintain Data Tests: Ensure the quality and reliability of data infrastructure.
  • Foster Collaboration: Translate business requirements into technical solutions through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Conduct Performance Evaluations: Provide feedback and help team members grow in their careers.

**Requirements:

  • Strong Experience: Designing and implementing data solutions in Snowflake.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead and manage teams, offering mentorship and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • dbt Expertise: Expertise in dbt for model creation, management, and parameterization.
  • Data Warehouse Experience: Experience working with data warehouses, ensuring efficient ETL processes, managing large datasets, and optimizing data storage and retrieval for analytics.
  • CI/CD Knowledge: Hands-on experience with CI/CD practices and their integration into data engineering workflows.
  • Scripting Skills: Hands-on experience with Bash or Python for scripting, automation, and process orchestration.
  • Communication and Leadership Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing and motivating teams.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and adapt to changing project needs.

**Nice to Have:

  • GraphQL API Knowledge: Familiarity with GraphQL API and its integration in data systems.
  • Data Governance Experience: Experience with Collibra or Alation for data governance and cataloging.
  • Data Quality Knowledge: Knowledge of data quality processes, including testing, scoring, and the importance of data reliability.
