About Us

Google, a pioneer in technology, is seeking an experienced software engineer to join our team. As a cloud solutions architect, you will play a crucial role in developing the next-generation technologies that transform how billions of users interact with information and each other.

We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from various areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, and data storage. Our products handle massive amounts of information and extend beyond web search.

In this role, you'll work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as we grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic about taking on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

Effingo, a core service at Google's infrastructure, powers our massive-scale data copying service. Be part of the Effingo team, responsible for building highly reliable systems that power core Google products.

**Job Responsibilities**

  • Design, develop, and test product or system development code.
  • Participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve problems by analyzing sources and impact on operations and quality.

**Requirements**

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages and data structures/algorithms.
  • Experience developing infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks.
  • Experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.

**Preferred Qualifications**

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems, networking, and related software infrastructure.
  • Experience with development, releases, and rollouts, system maintenance.
