About the Job:

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to fill our Network Engineer Tier II position within our Global Network operations team. As part of a growing managed services organization, you will have opportunities to work independently as well as part of a team, developing your managed service skills to the fullest.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting: Assist with troubleshooting multi-vendor, multi-protocol enterprise networks, responding to network alerts and diagnosing issue causality with Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Circuit Issue Resolution: Work with telecommunication providers in support of circuit-related issue resolution.
  • Vendor Triage: Work with various vendors to triage configuration, hardware, and software issues.
  • Escalation SME: Oversee the most critical and complex network issues.
  • Engineering Support: Support the engineering team in analysis of network events/outages to identify permanent resolution, prevention, and service improvements.
  • Network Projects: Assist with various network projects across multiple business units, including Wi-Fi design/troubleshooting and creation/updating of network documentation and Wiki's.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior engineering team members, engaging in escalations from junior engineers and customers.

Essential Criteria:

  • Certifications: Networking Certifications such as Cisco CCNP are beneficial.
  • Expert-Level Knowledge: Extensive understanding of network architecture, advanced routing and switching protocols, network security, and high-level network design.
  • Complex Issue Resolution: Expertise in resolving the most complex and critical network issues, involving deep troubleshooting and advanced diagnostic techniques.
  • Recent Experience: 5+ years of recent experience with Layer 2 Switching protocols and 5+ years of recent experience with Layer 3 Routing protocols.
  • Vendor Experience: Experience with multiple networking vendors including Cisco, HP, Aruba, Juniper, and Arista.
  • Design and Infrastructure: Solid understanding of Enterprise Network Design, infrastructure, operational, and IT managed service (ITSM) best practices.
  • Technologies: Deep understanding and experience with technologies including RSTP/MSTP, VLAN, VTP, ARP, OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, UDP, NDP, VxLAN, VRRP, EtherChannel in a global enterprise environment.
  • Application Protocols: Knowledge of application-level protocols such as SNMP, telnet, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, DHCP, DHCPv6, DNS, 802.1x, and IPsec.
  • Wi-Fi Experience: Strong Wi-Fi experience including design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Configuration and Troubleshooting: Ability to configure and troubleshoot routing/switching equipment.
  • Linux Proficiency: Proficiency in Linux operating system, scripting experience a plus.
  • IPv4 & IPv6: Experience with IPv4 & IPv6 in a dual stack is a plus.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Certifications: Cisco CCIE, Juniper JNCIE or specialized certification in network security or cloud networking is preferred.
  • Scripting Experience: Experience with Python and Bash scripting.
  • Global Experience: Global experience with enterprise environments.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent customer-facing verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mentoring Skills: Strong mentoring skills and desire to mentor junior engineers.
