Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate, Institutional Accounting to join our newly created Global Institutional Accounting team. This role is located in Wrocław, Poland and offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete activities related to the accurate and timely delivery of services on behalf of assigned clients, including determining NAV, calculating fund performance, allocating expenses, and preparing supportive reports.
  • Responsible for the completion of in-depth data analysis of reconciliations and leading engagements across business areas, identifying trends, providing complex root cause analysis, and executing on recommendations.
  • Serves as an escalation point for more junior members of the team, may be responsible for assigning workload and monitoring timeliness and accuracy of its completion.
  • Regularly interacts with clients in answering questions and resolving issues regarding fund reports and accounting processes.
  • Supports the team Manager in successful management of the team and delivering of department strategy, as well as identifying risks and needs for improvements (procedures, controls, systems, etc.).
  • May serve as a team supervisor for the day-to-day operations of a small sized Accounting team, reviewing daily tasks of the team as well as overseeing work direction and technical assistance on complex matters, providing guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Conducts reviews and oversees technical testing and the implementation of accounting software.

Requirements

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills (spoken and written English min. B/C level).
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience (minimum of years of experience within similar area, - years of total experience preferred). Previous work experience in Fund Accounting or Reconciliation is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of the different securities available in the market – bonds, equities, derivatives – as well as various market events (corporate actions).
  • Proficiency in use of MS Excel (pivots, formulas, etc.) with the ability to quickly learn other applications. Knowledge of SQL would be an asset.
  • Analytical skills with a proven track record of working with comprehensive financial/numerical data. Experience working with large and complex databases and an ability to understand how they function/interact will be preferred.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to handle high volumes with tight deadlines.
