Job Title: Financial Director

About the Role:
As a Financial Director at RWS, you will be responsible for the financial control of the Polish operations, accurate reporting, and applying appropriate financial controls. You will work in a hybrid setting in Bydgoszcz, Poland, and be responsible for delivering monthly management accounts, local statutory accounts, indirect tax filings, and corporate tax filings for the Polish entity with the support of our accountants.

Key Responsibilities:
Full ownership and accountability for the financial accounting and reporting for the Polish entity
Cooperation with the tax team and external service providers to ensure reporting and compliance on time of VAT, CIT, and statutory accounts
Managing and coordinating effective external audits
Cash flow management, effective cooperation with the payment department
Application of appropriate financial controls in the Polish branch, including review and approval of payroll, monitoring accountants' work in relation to reimbursement requests, and locally required documentation
Oversight of the accountants' work in updating the local accounting software
To ensure that it is accurate, timely, and compliant monthly reporting and closing processes
Analysis of results within management accounts
Implementation, approval, and monitoring of balance sheet arrangements
Reporting to the Central Statistical Office (Główny Urząd Statystyczny), NBP

Requirements:
English and Polish language skills at a level that enables fluent communication
Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/Equivalent)
5+ years of experience in a finance function operating in a senior financial role, including European finance experience
Experience of accounting and compliance for Polish entities would be extremely advantageous
Understanding of corporation tax requirements and accounting
Experience of consolidated accounting under Polish GAAP is desirable but not essential
Stakeholder management and communication skills
Strong influencing skills
Attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and quality
Experience of working with Microsoft Great Plains, Hyperion, and Microsoft D365 desirable
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines
Willingness to support the entire finance lifecycle where needed at times
