The charity's Bereavement Support Service aims to provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere for everyone, particularly those experiencing the devastating effects of losing a child.

Job Requirements:

About the Position:

This role requires a compassionate and skilled professional to work as a Bereavement Support Practitioner, focusing on sudden and traumatic deaths. The successful candidate will also contribute to the development and evaluation of the bereavement support service, including supervisory responsibilities for team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • DELIVERING BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT SERVICES: Providing high-quality support services to families affected by the loss of a child
  • WORKING WITH THE BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT SERVICE LEAD: Collaborating with the lead to develop and evaluate the bereavement support service, ensuring it meets the needs of families
  • NETWORK DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE: Developing and maintaining relationships with families, schools, and third sector organisations to enhance cross-referral pathways and networks
  • SUPERVISION OF TEAM MEMBERS: Supervising team members and providing guidance and support to ensure they are equipped to deliver excellent bereavement support services

Requirements:

  • Recognised health, social care, or counselling qualification
  • Experience working with children, young people, and families
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
