Motorola Solutions is seeking a skilled Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our Cloud Services Automation team. This role will involve designing, developing, and managing cloud platform ecosystems across various hyperscale cloud providers using modern DevOps practices and Infrastructure-as-Code.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Cloud Platforms: Create robust and automated platforms across key cloud providers, leveraging modern DevOps practices and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Requirements Gathering and Architecture Solutions: Gather functional and non-functional requirements to develop architecture solutions that meet business needs.
  • Well-Architected Reviews and Recommendations: Perform reviews of existing workloads and provide recommendations to improve the maturity of the cloud landscape.
  • LEANify Cloud Deployments: Apply infrastructure-as-code and automation techniques to enhance efficiency and reduce waste in cloud deployments.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Management: Build and manage continuous integration and delivery pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Azure DevOps.
  • Dashboards and Self-Service Capabilities: Develop dashboards to provide visibility and empower users with self-service capabilities.
  • POCs, Migrations, and Setup: Execute proof-of-concepts, migrate, and set up application workloads on Azure and AWS.
  • Security Collaboration and Enforcement: Work with the security team to analyze and create standards for cloud services, automating technical enforcement of policies and guidelines.
  • Cloud Management Automation: Improve consistency and operational efficiency by automating various aspects of cloud management.

 

Requirements:

  • Software Development Experience: Strong background in software development with proficiency in languages like Python, Shell Scripting, PowerShell, NodeJS, AngularJS, etc.
  • Infrastructure Concepts and Administration: Good understanding of infrastructure concepts and administration, including Linux or Windows, DNS, Network, Firewalls, and Security.
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Proven expertise in containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes.
  • Cloud/Infrastructure Architecture Patterns: Demonstrated knowledge of cloud/infrastructure architecture patterns and practices.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code Concepts: Thorough understanding of infrastructure-as-code concepts and tools like Terraform, Chef, Puppet, ARM, etc.
  • AWS and/or MS Azure Compute and Platform Services: Proficiency with AWS and/or MS Azure Compute and Platform services.
  • SDLC/Agile Practices and Tools: Advanced knowledge of SDLC/Agile practices and tools, including CI/CD pipeline, automated testing, code reviews, Jenkins, Jira, etc.
  • REST APIs and Microservices Architecture: Experience developing REST APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Team Player and Adaptability: Self-motivated, team player who demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and a willingness to learn new technologies and adapt.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cloud Certifications (Azure, AWS)
  • Experience with Microservices and Container Orchestration
  • Demonstrated Experience in Infrastructure/Cloud Architecture
  • Security & Firewall Experience

 

Salary: $140,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Motorola Solutions offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
