We're looking for an experienced Customs & Trade Compliance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you'll be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, developing and maintaining policies, managing import/export operations, and monitoring trade agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure regulatory compliance with global customs regulations, trade compliance laws, and export control requirements.

  2. Develop and maintain internal trade compliance policies, procedures, and documentation in line with international and local regulations.

  3. Oversee daily import and export operations, ensuring timely and accurate classification, valuation, and clearance of goods.

  4. Optimize opportunities from free trade agreements (FTAs), duty drawback programs, and customs benefits to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

  5. Perform periodic compliance audits to identify risks, improve processes, and ensure conformity with customs regulations and company policies.

  6. Develop and deliver training programs on customs and trade compliance topics for internal teams and external stakeholders.

  7. Act as the main point of contact with customs authorities, brokers, and freight forwarders to resolve operational or compliance issues.

  8. Manage the accurate classification of products under the Harmonized System (HS) to ensure proper tariff application.

  9. Identify and mitigate trade compliance risks, including sanctions, embargoes, and restricted party transactions.

  10. Ensure the correct origin status of products for VELUX customers.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of people management experience.

  • Minimum 5-10 years of relevant professional experience in customs, excise duties, and trade compliance.

  • Responsibility and ownership for people and projects.

  • Demonstrate initiative, strong problem-solving skills, and a continuous improvement mindset to drive process efficiency and innovation.

  • Great communication skills.

  • Strong service excellence orientation.

  • Understanding of GBS roles and responsibilities.

  • Tax Advisor Certificate is a plus.
