Highly Skilled Cloud Engineer for Large-Scale Data Infrastructure

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Platform Engineer to join our team remotely in an exciting project within a global, American market-leading, NYSE-listed trading platform.

RITS works in a cooperation/partnership model where we see our consultants as clients. As an exclusive Polish vendor for this particular client, which is a very stable company with over 25 years of experience, we help the world's leading asset managers, central banks, hedge funds, and other institutional investors access the liquidity they need through a range of electronic marketplaces and trades of approximately 30 trillion dollars per month.

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Designing and implementing data platforms using public cloud infrastructure (AWS and GCP), Kafka, databases, and containers;
  • Providing platform infrastructure and cooperating with data engineers;
  • Designing, building, and running Kafka messaging clusters;
  • Working on performance optimization issues in the application around the messaging platform;
  • Assisting in the building and running of K8s clusters and cloud environments;
  • Building and running ETL pipelines to onboard data into the platform, defining schema, building DAG processing pipelines, and monitoring data quality;
  • Helping develop machine learning development frameworks and pipelines;
  • Managing and running mission-critical production services.

This role requires:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a Platform Engineering role (System Engineer, DevOps Engineer, etc.);
  • Strong software engineering experience and proficiency in Python;
  • Experience working with SQL and databases/environments such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Snowflake, Redshift, Presto, etc.;
  • Knowledge of building ETL and stream processing pipelines using Kafka, Spark, Flink, Airflow/Prefect, etc.;
  • Familiarity with the data science stack, e.g., Jupyter, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Dask, PyTorch, MLFlow, Kubeflow, etc.;
  • Experience with AWS/GCP (S3/GCS, EC2/GCE, IAM, etc.), Kubernetes, and Linux in production;
  • A strong proclivity for automation and DevOps practices;
  • Experience managing increasing data volume, velocity, and variety;
  • Agile mindset, self-starter attitude, and focus on getting things done;
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Possibility to participate in on-call outside of regular business hours.
