We're seeking a seasoned Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our MailOps team, a specialized group within the SRE organization. This talented individual will maintain and improve our global mail infrastructure across three regions, ensuring highly available, reliable, scalable, and cost-optimized email-sending functionality for our customers.

The MailOps team focuses on building and optimizing MTA infrastructure using PowerMTA and KumoMTA, striving for 99.99% availability, security, and compliance. They provide APIs, infrastructure, and self-service tools to accelerate product development, optimize cost-to-serve for efficient scaling, and automate complex infrastructure tasks, enabling deliverability specialists and developers to work more effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provision and manage mail infrastructure using AWS, Chef, Terraform, and other DevOps tools.
  • Deploy and maintain services in Kubernetes, including PHP, Python, and Go applications that support mail operations.
  • Optimize and scale the mail platform, contributing to autoscaling, provisioning, cost reduction, and resiliency improvements.
  • Implement and adopt Kumo MTA as part of the mail infrastructure.
  • Monitor outgoing email queues, addressing bottlenecks and delivery issues in real time.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, ensuring timely email delivery and system reliability.
  • Automate mail-sending and deliverability analytics infrastructure to improve resiliency, scalability, and performance.
  • Enhance observability and system reliability, driving best practices for monitoring, scalability, and automation.
