About the Job

This High-Definition Mapping Expert role is a unique opportunity to join our Japan Data Ingestion team and contribute to the development of high-definition mapping solutions that power autonomous driving applications.

As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for driving the expansion and optimization of Japan's map compilation and ingestion processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver digital maps in NDS formats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable software solutions using Java and Scala.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define application specifications and resolve issues.
  • Own one or more components of software architecture, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Participate in agile development methodologies, sharing knowledge and expertise to drive team success.
  • Develop and maintain high-performance, reliable code, adhering to industry best practices.
  • Work closely with infrastructure teams to ensure efficient deployment and monitoring of software solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in backend application development using Java or Scala.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent proven experience.
  • Proven expertise in working with location data and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Strong understanding of programming best practices and design patterns.
  • Experience with unit testing, performance testing, and writing testable code.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure tools such as Maven/SBT, Git/Gerrit, Apache Spark, AWS, Jenkins, and Linux.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
