We are looking for a talented leader to drive growth and innovation in our cloud services. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading engineering teams that design, develop, implement, test, deploy, and operate components and services powering Pega Cloud.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to take on a leadership role and make a significant impact in the technology industry.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead two engineering teams (around 8 people) in building Cloud Services following established software development lifecycle (SDLC) and quality standards.
  2. Develop, inspire, mentor, and evaluate the engineering team by providing technical training plans, career growth guidance, and continuous feedback.
  3. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders including cross-functional teams, architects, product owners, scrum masters, and others to ensure delivery of functionality.
  4. Ensure delivered work meets functional and technical requirements, and quality standards.
  5. Identify training and talent development needs.
  6. Review designs and code, and provide meaningful feedback, ensuring detail orientation for follow-up on all technical topics.
  7. Advocate technical excellence and strong software engineering best practices.
  8. Provide clear and concise instructions to engineering teams.
  9. Facilitate innovation to drive towards engineering excellence.

Requirements

  • 4 – 7 years of software development experience, preferably in a product development company, with 1+ years as a technical lead or manager.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design, with an ability to implement code meeting engineering excellence standard with minimal oversight.
  • Knowledge of Go, Java, or similar.
  • Experience in Development, Deployment using one of the following cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar).
  • Agile/Scrum development methodology knowledge/experience.
  • Experience or good understanding of DevOps automation and pipeline tools.
  • Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, or similar.
  • Very good command of English.
