Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team at the Franklin Asphalt Plant. As a member of our Quality Control team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our bituminous materials and products.

Main Responsibilities:

• Conduct efficient bituminous asphalt testing, including asphalt content and gradation, maximum theoretical density of mix, and specific gravity of compacted mix.
• Participate in Daily Safety Huddles and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Perform aggregate material testing, sampling, absorption, LA Abrasion, specifications, un-compacted voids, Sodium / Magnesium Loss, crush counts, and inventory management.
• Develop and implement effective QC processes in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in computer software programs and experience with fax, printer, and copier operations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A thorough understanding of ASTM and AASHTO standards and procedures.
