pAt 1925 GlaxoSmithKline LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our UX Engineering team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the technological landscape of our company, specifically focusing on the design, delivery, and ongoing support of state-of-the-art data driven applications./ppThe ideal candidate will have a blend of leadership and hands-on technical expertise, with experience in front-end technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, and Angular.js. You will be responsible for leading the development, deployment, and maintenance of high-performance applications tailored to meet the unique needs of our scientific user base./ppKey responsibilities for this role include:/pulliLeading the development, deployment, and maintenance of full-stack, data-driven, cloud applications that serve our scientific community./liliDeveloping, measuring, and monitoring key metrics for all applications and services and consistently seeking to iterate on and improve them./liliOperating and supporting applications deployed in a production environment./liliTaking loosely defined mock-ups and producing rapid MVPs through to production grade experiences./liliMentoring junior engineers to develop their technical skills and interpersonal skills./liliChampioning standards and the development of quality software through test automation and best software engineering practices./liliWorking with product teams on product roadmaps and developing end user requirements./liliDriving a culture of innovation, transparency, and trust./li/ulpWe are looking for professionals with a strong track record in large-scale, application development, with a keen understanding of how data-driven applications can accelerate innovation. Strong communication skills, both technical and non-technical, are essential to effectively liaise with various stakeholders, including management, IT teams, and scientific personnel, to align technology solutions with business strategies and scientific objectives./ppBasic qualifications include:/pulliPhD + 2 years, Masters + 4 years, or Bachelors + 6 years/liliExperience in front-end technologies: JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, Angular.js or similar./liliExperience with API development using technologies and standards like REST/GraphQL/GRPC or similar/liliKnowledge of one or more common web backend language: e.g., Python, Scala, Java, JavaScript (Node.js)/liliExperience in an open-source web framework preferably implemented in JS, TypeScript, Python, Java, Scala, or similar./li/ulpPreferred qualifications include:/pulliDeveloping and deploying applications in a cloud environment like Google Cloud (preferred), AWS, Azure/liliExperience in an open-source web framework preferably implemented in JS, TypeScript, Python, Java, Scala, or similar./liliExperience with Authentication & Authorisation Mechanisms e.g OAuth2/liliApplication experience of CI/CD implementations using git and a common CI/CD stack (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab, Azure DevOps)/liliExperience with modern software development tools / ways of working (e.g. git/GitHub, DevOps tools, metrics / monitoring, ...)/liliExperience in agile software development and common environments such as Jira and Confluence/liliKnowledge of database modelling, database concepts and SQL/liliExperience with data visualization frameworks like D3.js, Plotly, Matplotlib, or similar/li/ul
