Job Description:

We are seeking an Senior Java Software Architect to join our team at Avenga. This role involves designing and developing greenfield web backend applications, ensuring they are flexible, modular, and maintainable.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in modern Java (min 17), modern Kotlin (min 3 years), Spring Boot (Spring Core, Spring Data), JDBC/jOOQ, and NoSQL databases. Additionally, they should be proficient in DevOps processes and tools, as well as monitoring and metrics tools like Prometheus and Grafana.

A strong background in XP practices such as TDD, CI/CD, pair programming, coding standards, and simple design is essential. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with Hexagonal/Clean Architecture and Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with team members across disciplines to integrate backend services with critical platform components. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Designing and developing greenfield web backend applications
  • Developing and integrating APIs to support front-end applications and third-party services
  • Participating in Agile processes to ensure continuous progress and team alignment
