Web Software Engineer Position for a Collaborative Environment

At AirHelp, we're looking for an experienced web developer to join our team in a highly collaborative environment. As a web software engineer, you'll have the opportunity to develop and improve web applications, as well as the services that support them.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is proactive and takes ownership of their work. In this role, you'll have the possibility to test many solutions and work with various technologies and tools.

  • We use React.js as our leading technology.
  • We employ Chakra UI + Storybook for our components library.
  • Our testing tools include React Testing Library, Vitest, and Cypress.
  • Ruby on Rails powers our backend services.
  • We utilize PostgreSQL as our primary database solution.
  • For cloud infrastructure and container orchestration, we rely on Amazon Web Services/Kubernetes.
  • We also make use of GitHub (including GitHub Copilot), Jira, Confluence.
  • ELK/Grafana and Sentry are our monitoring and logging tools.
  • Figma is used for design purposes.
  • Optimizely, Google Tag Manager, and Google Analytics round out our toolset.
Key Responsibilities:

In this position, you'll be responsible for improving user flows to increase conversion rates and enhance the overall user experience.

  • You'll work closely with designers, the localization team, and other stakeholders to deliver the best possible user experience.
  • Collaborating with the Product Manager to understand customer needs and influence product direction is key.
  • You'll set up and manage A/B tests to validate ideas and improve performance.
  • Enhancing and suggesting improvements to the architecture of our applications to ensure scalability and maintainability is essential.
  • You'll write clean, testable, and maintainable code.
  • Promoting good engineering practices and helping raise the bar for code quality and team standards is crucial.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you should have commercial experience in building and maintaining web applications with React.

  • A very good knowledge of TypeScript, React, HTML5, and CSS3 is required.
  • Experience with backend technologies, preferably Ruby on Rails, is desired.
  • Eagerness to work with different technologies and languages and learn new things is necessary.
  • A very good command of English (both spoken and written) is essential.
