Reinsurance Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Reinsurance Analyst to join our team at AXA XL. As a Reinsurance Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting our global reinsurance business by performing technical accounting operational duties for assigned reinsurance accounts.

• Review and reconcile treaty/account statements for assigned markets/clients
• Process original premium, premium adjustments, and claims, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date data
• Ensure documentation is associated with the appropriate contract
• Electronically file/upload relevant transaction documentation to the accounting system, ensuring accurate and consistent labeling, and proper audit-trail of risk data entered into the system
• Investigate inconsistencies, account discrepancies, and related issues, and raise/resolve these in cooperation with the team leader
• Respond to queries, timely and accurately
• Ensure accounts received are consistent with underwriting technical entries, if necessary, securing missing accounts and invoices from brokers/cedents
• Review, reconcile, and identify incoming and outgoing payments and perform cash allocation for assigned brokers/clients
• Monitor third-party debtor balances (credit control/aged debt monitoring), proactively identifying debt positions to chase
• Support and work closely with other internal departments on special projects as and when required (ad hoc data analysis, reports production, UAT testing, Internal audits)
• Assist in the monthly and quarterly closing process
• Support continuous improvement activities

• University degree (or equivalent), preferably in a quantitative discipline (finance, accounting)
• Effective analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail
• Intellectual curiosity: A willingness to ask questions and explore new ideas
• Eager to learn and focus on continuously improving technical skills
• Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work under time pressure in a changing environment is a must

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Effective English language skills, additional European languages are a plus (Italian, Spanish, French, German)
