Job Description

This role is responsible for playing a key part in the month-end closing process for three different entities, working closely with the Head of Accounting to ensure timely and accurate posting of journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis (COGS, accruals, prepaid expenses, payroll postings, etc.).

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, as well as contributing to bank statement reconciliations and tax return preparation.

As a Senior Accountant, you will work closely with the tax team to ensure accurate control and reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts and postings.

You will also be responsible for liaising with other team members in day-to-day operational activities, preparing payment lists, and facilitating tax payments requested by the tax team.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • An academic degree in accounting or a comparable education/qualification;
  • Fluent English skills; German will be a huge asset;
  • Several years of practical experience in financial accounting, including both General Ledger and Accounts Payables functions;
  • Good knowledge of German GAAP accounting principles and general ledger and accounts payable processes;
  • Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (Oracle Netsuite would be an advantage);
  • Big4 experience is an asset;
  • Exceptional attention to detail, excellent time management, and problem-solving skills;
  • Experience in the e-commerce sector would be a big asset;
  • Hands-on mentality, strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Proficiency in MS Office package, especially MS Excel;
