The role of the Electrical Hardware Architect Engineer at BorgWarner involves managing customer hardware requirements, translating these into detailed product requirements, and ensuring compliance with regulations for power electronics inverters, electronics control units, or on-board chargers. As a key member of a multi-disciplined product development team, you will work on cutting-edge automotive powertrain electronics for battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid mass markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customer requirements and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Decompose requirements into architectural blocks, I/O interfaces, and system requirements/design for Hardware, Electronic, Mechanical, Validation, and Manufacturing engineering teams.
  • Develop Product Definition Documents and manage change processes.
  • Design embedded test software and create product functional test plans.
  • Perform product functional hardware bench testing and support environmental and electromagnetic compatibility validation.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to implement production changes and support customer test and validation programs.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in Automotive Electronics or e-Mobility (Hardware).
  • Strong foundation in hardware embedded systems and experience with problem-solving methodologies.
  • Fluency in English; German and French are a plus.
