Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forecasting Specialist – Assistant Manager - English to join our team in Katowice. As a key member of our forecasting team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining statistical forecasts for our portfolio across all time horizons.
About the Role
You will play a critical role in driving business growth by developing and implementing effective forecasting strategies. Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating and maintaining statistical forecasts for our portfolio considering demand drivers at the agreed hierarchy level.
- Researching demand drivers, preparing forecast data, and evaluating forecast performance.
- Monitoring and reporting on specific KPIs (e.g., forecast accuracy, forecast BIAS, MAPE, forecast value add) at multiple levels and lags and providing insights on contributing factors and improvement opportunities.
- Selecting the best statistical model for forecast items that cannot be modelled by the system considering seasonality, responsiveness, trend, and stability.
- Contributing to promotion planning based on data insights.
- Running machine learning forecasts and disaggregation to building blocks.
- Running automatic cleansing and ensuring final output (cleansed data) is completed in the system.
- Generating historical demand performance reports and ensuring all needed actions are considered for forecasting.
- Analyzing proposals for new product introductions, collaborating with demand planners to generate initial forecasts, and considering cannibalization impacts.
- Optimizing and tuning statistical forecasts, updating system parameters after conducting necessary analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
- Tracking and monitoring changes to allow for continuous improvement.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, applied math, or other relevant degree.
- A strong understanding of advanced planning systems and its functionality.
- Knowledge of ERP functionality, experience with SAP/Oracle/JDE an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in forecasting (statistical techniques, collaboration scenario modeling, parameters modeling).
- Strong analytical skills.
- Exceptional drive, excellent interpersonal skills, and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to immediately contribute in a collaborative team environment.
- An ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of client focus.
- Strong work ethic and high attention to detail, with a desire to learn.
