Accounting SME Record-to-Report Transformation

We are seeking a skilled Accounting SME to support the Record-to-Report transformation at Fortum. As part of our Finance Development team, you will be responsible for managing communication and collaboration among cross-functional stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing communication and collaboration among cross-functional stakeholders such as IT and Finance teams.
  • Supporting Fortum finance with process explanation/training where needed.
  • Identifying and understanding requirements and gaps in solutions and effectively conducting change management.

In this role, you will contribute to the Record-to-Report transformation, working closely with different Fortum finance teams across the company. The position includes some travelling, but we work flexibly in a hybrid model that adapts to both your professional and personal needs.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you have:

  • Suitable degree or equivalent competencies in e.g. accounting or technology, and preferably 5 years of working experience in a relevant field (e.g. consulting, accounting, or process development).
  • Proven track record with financial accounting processes preferably in a large-scale, global organization.
  • Deep understanding of financial accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and consistency; IFRS knowledge is needed.
  • Capabilities to work independently and in a matrix organization.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset where you seek best practices.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate efficiently across teams and stakeholders.
  • Fluent written and spoken English; competence in other languages is an advantage.
  • Good technical capabilities working with ERPs and other financial management related systems (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience in ERP implementation and transformation is considered an advantage.
