Our team is comprised of experts with extensive experience in observability technologies, including Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Elasticsearch, and more. We are seeking a skilled Senior Platform Engineer to join our client's project remotely, with occasional travel to Berlin for meetings.

The client is developing an internal platform to enhance software development and delivery efficiency within the energy sector. This cloud-native, service-oriented platform provides application teams with self-service tools for building, running, and managing software efficiently. It encompasses infrastructure and data services, CI/CD pipelines, and application operations, all running in a hybrid cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop core components of the observability platform
  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for development and deployment
  • Automate processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Deploy and manage the observability stack in an on-premise environment
  • Document best practices for platform usage
  • Collaborate with customers to roll out and improve the platform based on feedback
  • Enhance security practices, including RBAC for logs, metrics, and traces
  • Implement security measures to protect the platform and its users
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in similar roles, especially in observability and performance monitoring
  • Deep understanding of Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Kibana, OpenTelemetry, Kubernetes, Kafka, and associated tools
  • Experience in bringing cloud-native observability tools to market in private or public cloud environments
  • Understanding of large-scale cloud infrastructure operations
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, DevOps practices, IAM/RBAC principles, and related observability solutions
  • Competence in using project management tools like Jira and Confluence
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline management, including build, image registry, vulnerability scanning, and deployment processes
  • Experience with building infrastructure using open-source technologies and associated tools like Terraform or Helm
