The University of Silesia in Katowice is seeking a highly skilled and motivated researcher to join its team as a research staff assistant. The successful candidate will be part of the NCN OPUS research project "Constitutional Zugwang: Toward an amendment theory on constitutional momentum", led by Mauro Arturo Rivera León, PhD.
Job DescriptionThis is a full-time employment under a fixed period employment contract for 12 months with the possibility of prolongation as a part of the NCN OPUS research project. The position is located at the Faculty of Law and Administration, Institute of Law, University of Silesia in Katowice.
- Conducting research on the economic, political, and normative outcomes of constitutional amendments using quantitative methods.
- Cooperation in writing scientific articles and presenting results at Polish and foreign workshops and scientific conferences.
To be eligible for this position, candidates must have a minimum PhD in social sciences in one of the disciplines: legal sciences, economics, political science, or a related field. They should also have experience in conducting research that demonstrates an ability to apply methodological tools required to analyze constitutional amendments using quantitative methodology.
- Recent scientific publications indexed in Scopus or Web of Science.
- Competences allowing for internationalization of scientific activity.
- Very good knowledge of English.
- Documented foreign/domestic scientific research stays or experience in international research cooperation.
- Experience in realization or applying for research projects.
The successful candidate will receive a monthly remuneration in the amount of 8986 PLN gross (including job seniority bonus, if applicable). Additional remuneration components include benefits according to The Rules and Regulations of Remuneration for Employees of the University of Silesia in Katowice.
OthersThe University reserves the right to leave the call unresolved. Candidates employed in other higher education institutions as their primary place of work should, as of the day of their employment, fulfill the requirement defined in art. 120, section 2 of the Act – Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 (Journal of Law of 2024 item 1571), according to which an academic may have only one primary place of work at a time.
