Job Overview

This role is an integral part of our Agile Software Development team, where you will take on key responsibilities in projects across the Blue Zinc product suite. As a Senior Software Developer, you will be expected to lead small teams within the wider engineering group, taking ownership of delivering projects and contributing to ongoing processes of continuous improvement.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Software Development: Developing software through design, analysis, documentation, coding, and testing as applicable.
  • Participating in Code Reviews: Engaging in code reviews and pair programming exercises to ensure high-quality code.
  • Solving Problems and Fixing Bugs: Identifying and resolving problems and bugs in new and existing software applications.

Client Consultancy: Liaising with potential and actual clients regarding Blue Zinc software products.

Client Software Deployment: Implementing and documenting software deployment.

Technical Documentation: Creating detailed technical documentation for working applications and new requirements, including design specifications, support documentation, and tester documentation. Maintaining up-to-date documentation to ensure its accuracy.

General Responsibilities: Occasionally performing short, one-off tasks outside the above-listed responsibilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying modern full-stack web applications.
  • A minimum of 3 years of frontend experience using React, TypeScript, TailwindCSS, Vite.
  • The ability to write modular, maintainable, component-based UIs.
  • A strong understanding of responsive design and accessibility best practices.
  • A minimum of 3 years of backend experience building .NET Core / .NET 6+ REST APIs.
  • Experience with authentication, validation, error handling, and layered architecture.
  • Demonstrated technical ownership of a project or product.
