Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced database architect to join our team. As a database architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing databases that meet the needs of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement databases to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and issues related to queries, indexing, and configuration.
  • Implement and manage backup and recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity and ensure business continuity in case of disasters or system failures.
  • Implement and enforce security measures, access controls, and policies to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, breaches, and vulnerabilities.
  • Forecast future resource requirements based on growth projections and usage patterns to ensure adequate capacity and scalability of databases.
  • Investigate and resolve database-related issues, errors, and incidents in a timely manner to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
  • Develop and maintain scripts, tools, and automation workflows to streamline database management tasks, deployments, and maintenance activities.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patching activities to ensure databases are running on supported and secure versions.
  • Create and maintain documentation, best practices, and knowledge base articles to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among team members.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to junior DBAs and other team members to enhance their skills and capabilities in database administration.
  • Ensure databases comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies through regular audits, assessments, and compliance checks.
  • Collaborate with database vendors, suppliers, and service providers to evaluate, procure, and manage database software, licenses, and support agreements.
