Math Algorithm Developer

Job Summary

Intel is seeking a highly skilled Math Algorithm Engineer to develop software libraries of mathematical algorithms optimized for underlying hardware architectures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in numerical analysis, scientific software design, and parallel programming.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, optimize, debug, test, and maintain complex software for mathematical, scientific, engineering, digital signal processing, and artificial intelligence applications.
• Work directly with hardware design teams to influence architectures and collaborate with companies/communities developing mathematical, scientific, and engineering applications or supporting software tools.
• Develop industry-leading software that abstracts and showcases Intel platforms, extracts peak performance, and amplifies Intel business through our Hardware and Software developer communities.

Requirements

• Master's Degree with 2+ years of experience or PhD in Computer Science/Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
• 2+ years of experience in numerical analysis or scientific software designs with an emphasis in dense and sparse linear algebra, extensive coding in C++, C, or Fortran languages, parallel programming using OpenMP, TBB, or MPI, and Linux or Windows OS development.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with architecture-specific code optimizations, heterogeneous compute targeting GPUs, and active use of debuggers and performance analysis tools.
