Are you a seasoned data engineer looking for a new challenge? Do you have a passion for designing and implementing data systems that drive business growth? We're seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to join our team at Sunscrapers, a leading force in software development.

About the Role

As a Lead Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for leading a team of data engineers in the design and implementation of a system supporting the investment process for a US-based venture capital firm. You'll need to integrate data from multiple systems and sources to enable data insights, machine learning, and data-driven decision processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the product team in the US to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Lead a team of 3-4 data engineers in the development of data systems
  • Manage multiple technical projects, ensuring they're delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Supervise project delivery and develop best engineering practices
  • Grow tech teams and individuals by providing support, advice, and mentorship
  • Tackle challenging technical problems and find solutions
  • Share technical expertise with the client and other team members
  • Help us hire the most talented engineers
Requirements

We're looking for someone with:

At least 7 years of professional experience as a software developerManagerial or team leading experienceProficiency in Python and SQLExpertise in data warehouses, especially SnowflakeGood expertise in relational databases, especially PostgreSQLExpertise in DBT and DBT CloudProficiency in AWS cloud, especially ECS, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, S3, RDSExcellent communication skills, written and verbalPassion about good engineering practices and ability to inspire the teamProficiency in data architecture and modelingExperience with AirflowAbility to design, implement, and monitor data pipelines, ETL/ELT processesExperience with infrastructure and deployment automation with TerraformExperience with Git version control systemsPassion, self-reliance, and 'get things done' approachProactiveness and positive attitude to work (and life:))Fluent EnglishWhat We Offer
