**Job Description**

We are seeking a seasoned technical expert to lead the development of our cloud-based mapmaking platform. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services at scale.

You will own the full software lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring software quality through code reviews, testing, and best practices. Collaboration with product managers and stakeholders is key in defining and refining requirements.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in Java, a strong background in object-oriented and functional programming, and hands-on experience with high-availability relational and NoSQL databases.

A proven track record of working on high-throughput, low-latency, highly reliable systems, and experience with Big Data processing frameworks, containerization, and orchestration are essential.

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services at scale

  • Familiarity with HTTP, RESTful APIs, and networking (TCP/IP)
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
