About the Role:

We are seeking a Tech Lead/Manager to lead a small team of experienced engineers. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of relevant software engineering experience, with at least 1 year dedicated to full-time engineering team management.

The Tech Lead/Manager will be responsible for:

  • Technical leadership: coding, conducting code reviews, and discussing architectural designs
  • Operations: triaging issues, investigating timeouts, and ensuring the stability of the system
  • Performance: improving latency of SQL queries and API endpoints
  • Cost: optimizing usage of cloud and other service providers to keep expenditures under control
  • Management: growing the team, delegating, and ensuring important items are being delivered on time
  • Integrations: building and designing integrations with external systems

The Tech Lead/Manager will be expected to spend around 50% of their time coding and will be responsible for making strategic trade-offs to deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced, scaling environment.

About You:

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in managing complex, cross-functional projects across multiple teams. The ideal candidate will have strong development and system design skills, with experience in Python, React, and AWS as a plus.

The candidate will be responsible for hiring talented engineers at various levels and building high-performing teams. They will also be expected to optimize APIs and SQL queries for performance and be familiar with monitoring tools such as DataDog, Sentry, or similar services.
