About the Position

This role presents an exceptional opportunity to join our team of expert Kotlin developers and contribute to the development of high-performance applications within our data streaming platform. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and maintaining coding standards, testing practices, and delivery pipelines to ensure consistency and quality across the team. You will also advocate for non-hierarchical code reviews, produce technical documentation, and research new technologies to improve platform availability and minimize latency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Application Development: Develop and maintain applications, tools, and utilities within our data streaming platform using concise, readable, and reliable code.
  • Coding Standards: Define and maintain coding standards, testing practices, and delivery pipelines to ensure consistency and quality across the team.
  • Code Review: Advocate and perform non-hierarchical code reviews to promote best practices and collaboration among team members.
  • Technical Documentation: Produce concise and consistent technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and onboarding new team members.
  • Research and Innovation: Research and suggest new technologies and concepts to improve platform availability, minimize latency, and enhance overall performance.
  • Service Automation: Own service test automation and load testing, working closely with our QA team to ensure seamless integration and efficient delivery.
  • Personal and Team Development: Actively pursue personal and team development through in-house training facilities, third-party resources, and mentorship opportunities.
  • System Security: Work with our technical lead to improve system security, staying up-to-date with developments and versioning concerns to ensure our platform remains secure and resilient.
Requirements:
  • Kotlin Experience: Extensive experience developing applications using Kotlin and Java in commercial JVM roles.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Advocate of meticulous unit testing, integration testing, and TDD; extensive knowledge of automated testing, mocking, and testing frameworks.
  • Microservices Architecture: Experience with development and deployment within microservice architecture and observability.
  • Containerization: Experience with containerization software and container orchestration technology.
  • API Design: Extensive experience designing, developing, and documenting client-facing RESTful and internal APIs.
  • Demonstrable History: Demonstrable history of successful personal development and a track record of delivering high-quality results in previous roles.
