Our flagship platform, Sea, is the world's first digital shipping platform that offers cloud-based applications for the pre-fixture and at-fixture space, enhancing workflow efficiency and digitization.

The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for product management of Sea's Application Platform, focusing on creating value and ensuring viability for our internal product teams. A key aspect of your responsibility will be our shared data model for maritime contracts, which serves as the foundation for our customer-facing products, ensuring seamless interoperability throughout the entire pre-fixture and at-fixture workflow while maintaining a reliable single source of truth for fixture negotiations.

You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including technical leadership, to develop solutions that unlock valuable outcomes such as reducing team cycle times, improving data quality, and enhancing product interoperability, leading to seamless customer workflows. Additionally, you will work with product teams to build out and evolve the shared data model for maritime contracts and other services, understanding their needs and prioritizing development efforts while ensuring alignment with our business goals and vision.

You will champion the strategy for our application platform, focusing on delivering value early and often. Furthermore, you will be part of a team of Product Managers responsible for our customer-facing products, contributing to a community developing tools and practices to deliver value to customers efficiently.

To succeed in this role, a deep understanding of modern software development frameworks and technical architecture is essential. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with product management of internal tooling, shared services, or shared databases and data models in the context of SaaS platforms, preferably in a B2B context.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our internal stakeholders and the products they create for our customers.
  • Closely collaborate with engineering and design colleagues to identify opportunities and issues, and rapidly ideate together to deliver and continuously improve our application platform.
  • Work collaboratively with teams and developers to align plans, resolve product-related problems, and communicate changes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure our application platform meets relevant requirements.
  • Serve as a product leader, sharing your work with leadership.
  • Maintain continuous monitoring of your products, tracking and reviewing metrics to ensure we continue adding value.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A proven track record of managing all aspects of a platform product with multiple internal stakeholders throughout its lifecycle.
  • Experience with product management and collaboration in multidisciplinary product teams.
  • Experience working in a dual-track agile development environment, balancing simultaneous product discovery and delivery.
  • A passion for building the best possible foundational data model for product teams and enabling the delivery of products that delight our customers.
  • Comfortable with complex problem-solving and data-driven decision-making.
  • A keen sense of business value and prioritization. We are building a true end-to-end solution, collaborating with other teams and the ability to identify and leverage features across the platform is key, as well as articulating the business value of such changes.
  • An approachable, excellent communicator – presenting to stakeholders both internally and externally is second nature to you.
  • A self-starter who enjoys and has experience owning, shaping, transforming, and delivering a world-class product.
