Software Engineer Team Overview

The Software Engineer team at FedEx is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and debugging software programs for enhancements and new products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software programs from concept to full development life cycle.
  • Prepare and conduct system programming tests, requiring interfacing and software testing.
  • Document software programs with flowcharts, visualizations, and diagrams to ensure users have a full understanding throughout the development cycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.
  • Experience building end-to-end solutions on cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
  • Experience with source control tools like Git as well as knowledge using ADO.
  • Experience in development using Java or Springboot.
  • Ability to develop interfaces such as API JSON or SOAP and web services.
  • Comfort with database concepts and experience writing SQL in a relational database such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment and working with user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Willingsness to learn and explore new technologies, vast technology stack and figure out solutions, by deeper research and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in technical leadership roles.
