Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our dynamic team as an Integration Platforms Engineer. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and evolve cloud-based Kafka and API Gateway platforms.

As an Integration Platforms Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless integration, optimal performance, and scalability of our engineering squads' platforms. You will work with a strong background in Kafka, cloud computing, and API Integration, coupled with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the Integration SME for one or more Integration platform capabilities
  • Engineering high-quality self-serve capabilities to improve the Integration platforms
  • Understand, contribute to, and champion the Integration strategies
  • Provide insights for improvements by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service metrics
  • Actively engage with the Integration Chapter to drive forward improvements in Engineering
  • Ready to assist teams at short notice to collaborate, fix technical issues, or provide expertise and guidance
  • Keeps up to date with best practice engineering tools and techniques
  • Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed
  • Supports and develops engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities to other members of the team
  • Deputizes for other roles in the squad when required
  • Out of hours Platform support

Requirements:

  • Subject matter expertise of Kafka, Event-driven designs, and API architectures
  • Hands-on experience of Confluent data streaming platform
  • Engineering experience with Go, Gitlab, Postgres, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Datadog, and Dynatrace
  • Hands-on experience of Tyk API Gateway Management or similar
  • Breadth and depth of knowledge of Integration technologies, architecture, and principles
  • Generating ideas with colleagues and offering insightful solutions
  • Meeting tight deadlines
  • Mentoring junior members of the squad
