Job Description

As a Junior Data Engineer, you will have the exciting opportunity to work with our team on challenging projects across various industries, leveraging technologies like Azure and Databricks.

  • Project 1: Modernizing Client's Azure Data Platform

We are seeking talented individuals to help design and develop the client's Azure Data Platform to modernize and optimize critical processes.

This involves migrating selected SSAS cube objects and SSIS pipelines from the on-premises SQL Server to Azure Cloud Resources while ensuring data integrity, completeness, and operational readiness of the client's data processes.

Key activities include improving UI/UX, unifying logging, setting up monitoring and alerts, automating Power BI reports and workspace management, establishing backup strategies, cost management, and documentation.

Project 2: Universal Data Platform for Global Aerospace Companies

This project aims to design and develop a universal data platform for global aerospace companies using Azure and Databricks.

The data platform combines diverse enterprise and public data sources and is at the early stages of development, covering design of architecture and processes as well as technology selection.

Project 3: Data Platform Transformation for Energy Management Association Body

We are implementing a comprehensive data catalog using Databricks and Apache Spark/PySpark for simplified data access and governance.

Secure integration solutions and enhanced data quality monitoring using Delta Live Table tests established trust in the platform.

The intermediate result is a user-friendly, secure, and data-driven platform serving as a basis for further development of ML components.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Write advanced SQL queries and develop database procedures.
  • Create data visualizations using Power BI to deliver actionable insights.
  • Design and develop ETL processes, Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and Data Lakes.
  • Gather and analyze requirements to design logical and physical data models.
  • Work with various data storage and database technologies to build scalable solutions.
  • Deploy data applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and GitHub.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and actively contribute to project and product development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical, mathematical, or economic fields.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in implementing, developing, or maintaining Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, or Big Data systems.
  • Strong understanding of data processing and ETL/ELT techniques.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI for data visualization.
  • Solid understanding of Azure services for cloud-based data solutions.
  • Familiarity with web application design principles (twelve-factor applications) and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with modern development tools, including Git and CI servers.
  • Independent and responsible approach to delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Proactive mindset with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent command of English (at least C1 level).
  • Interest in developing as a Data Engineer.
