Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Linux Systems Engineer with a strong background in managing and maintaining Linux-based servers and environments. The successful candidate will possess excellent troubleshooting skills, a proactive approach to automation, and a deep understanding of system security best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, maintain, and optimize Linux-based servers and environments to ensure smooth operation of critical systems.
  • Install, configure, and administer Linux-based servers (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
  • Monitor system performance, ensuring continuous availability and reliability.
  • Regularly update systems, apply patches, and conduct kernel upgrades to ensure security and compliance.
  • Automate routine system tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
  • Enforce security best practices, including setting up firewalls, VPNs, access controls, and file permissions.
  • Execute backups, implement recovery procedures, and develop disaster recovery plans.
  • Oversee storage solutions, including NFS, RAID, LVM, and SAN systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Manage user access and permissions, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Deploy and monitor logging and alerting tools to track system health and prevent outages.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Linux systems administration.
  • Experience with system monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
  • Proficiency with Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
  • Experience with shell scripting (Bash) and automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP, NFS, etc.).
  • Practical experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Understanding of security tools and practices (SELinux, iptables, firewalld).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent command of the French language (at least B2 level) and good command of English (at least B1 level).
