The role of the Regulatory Operations Manager is to provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day activities, escalations within the team, and provide expert advice on complex regulatory queries and issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leadership and Direction: Provide leadership and direction to the compliance team, support individual Team Managers through regular engagement around Group Compliance and individual objectives and deliverables.
  2. Work collaboratively with other managers to ensure a uniform approach towards all employees.
  3. Operational Oversight: Allocate work, set delivery expectations using objective setting within the professional development and appraisal process, and ensure delivery through others through constructive criticism, guidance, and support.
  4. Prioritize workload and set the correct delivery expectations with oversight and guidance.
Functional Responsibilities:
  • Understand automated sanction screening tools, live and retrospective monitoring tools, and Client and Partner communication systems.
  • Deal with escalations from senior analysts and follow reporting procedures accordingly.
  • Escalate operational issues to compliance leadership, incident management teams, and regulatory incident teams in accordance with policy.
  • Contribute to team activities when required to ensure SLAs and deadlines are achieved.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week, with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • A relevant graduate degree or equivalent professional qualifications ICA AML, Compliance, and/or Financial Crime Post-Grad Diplomas.
  • 5 years of experience in a related environment: Payments industry, compliance, regulation.
  • Managing an operational function and experience of coaching teams and individuals.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable regulations and legislation.
