Key Responsibilities

  • To consistently deliver exceptional, personalized service to our guests, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
  • Co-management and training of kitchen staff, scheduling of work, and evaluation of staff performance to achieve optimal results.
  • To maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment that meets Raffles quality standards.
  • To create and implement innovative, high-quality dishes that exceed guest expectations.
  • Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing effective solutions.
  • To assist the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary.
  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and take control of any problematic situation.
  • To manage inventory and supplies, ensuring timely ordering and stock management.
  • To balance operational, administrative, and team needs to achieve optimal results.
  • To adhere to kitchen policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • To follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.


Requirements

  • Previous leadership experience as Junior Sous Chef required.
  • Diploma Certification in a Culinary discipline an asset.
  • Good command of English.
  • Excellent record of kitchen and staff management.
  • Proven track record of cost control, including food, equipment, labor, and wastage, to meet food quality goals and the hotel's financial goals.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications required.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team.
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
