Job Summary

This role will support the development of structural engineering designs for projects by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other structural engineers and technical disciplines in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Originate and check structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations and specifications.
  • Review and coordinate technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines.
  • Prepare technical reports related to specific design issues.
  • Assist in constructability reviews.
  • Coordinate with counterpart in other disciplines, supplier/client representatives, and project field personnel to gather or provide information.
  • Schedule and coordinate off-project review requirements for engineering deliverables.
  • Participate in technical discussions with clients, suppliers, construction teams, etc.
  • Prepare conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.
  • Analyze structures using GTSTRUDL or STAAD.
  • Demonstrate experience working collaboratively with a team and providing support as needed.
Requirements
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (or related) from an accredited university and 2-5 years of relevant experience or in lieu of a degree 6-8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Must be authorized to live and work in the country without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Have Poland Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Knowledge of the use Mathcad or similar software.
  • Knowledge and application of the AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318, and ASCE 7.
  • Knowledge of the provisions of ACI 349, AISC N690, ASCE 4-98, ASCE 7, and IBC codes.
  • Familiar with Bechtel standard programs.
  • Familiar with all Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs) and their application to projects.
  • Knowledge of design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPS).
  • Experience in the structural design of Nuclear facilities.
  • Experience in resolving field problems associated with FCNs, FCRs, NCRs, CRs, and/or SDDRs.
  • Experience with GE Nuclear Plant designs.
  • Modular reactor plant design experience.
