Head of Transactional Accounting East Europe

Position Summary The Head of Transactional Accounting - East Europe will lead and oversee a team responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of all general accounting, accounts receivable, billing, and accounts payable functions across the region. The role ensures compliance with internal controls and company policies, accurate period reporting, and the effective execution of accounting processes. Additionally, this position collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify needs, drive process improvements, and implement cost‑efficient solutions through enhanced capabilities and technology. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic vision for the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Accounting functions and support the actions that must be taken to achieve it, through deployment of new tools or business models like RPAs and centralized support. Develop and implement new projects, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and controls for the function. Coordinate the timely execution of the monthly and quarterly accounting closing activities and supporting schedules in adherence to local and global company guidelines. Oversee and direct centralized relationships pertaining to the AP, AR, General Accounting, and cash application. Serve as a mentor by providing coaching, career development, and inter‑departmental relationship management for the team. Enforce the organization's accounting procedures and internal controls. Serve on special projects as a finance subject matter expert. Lend support during audit/close requests and new customer/partner onboarding activities. Other responsibilities as required. Qualifications and Education Requirements University Degree in Finance/Accounting coupled with a minimum of 5 years of experience within financial analysis. A background in Finance, Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain or Inventory Management is required. 5+ years in finance/accounting leadership (AP, AR, general accounting, closing cycles). Strong communication: clear, persuasive, and supportive. Skilled in transformation, system integrations, and process optimization. Fluent in English & Polish; French or Greek a plus. Nice to have: SAP, IFRS/GAAP, RPA/automation experience. Insurance industry background a plu. Basic familiarity with available AI tools such as ChatGPT. What We Offer Employment contract.
