Lead GenAI Engineer

We are now looking for a Lead GenAI Engineer & Architect (Azure) to take a key role in our client’s global digital transformation program.This is a hands-on technical leadership position — ideal for someone who combines deep engineering expertise with architectural thinking and a passion for building scalable GenAI solutions from the ground up. You’ll help shape the technical direction and architecture of a rapidly growing Azure-based AI application — while actively contributing to the design and development of production systems that power global operations in areas such as supply chain, procurement, and finance. Why this role matters now The AI application is expanding into multiple pillars, with a strong focus on chatbot and conversational AI solutions .We’re looking for a senior engineer who can both set architectural standards and lead by example in code — ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability across all components. You’ll work in a high-performing Agile team that values speed, autonomy, and collaboration — driving innovation at the intersection of AI, cloud, and enterprise software. What you’ll do Own and evolve the technical architecture of the GenAI application across multiple product pillars. Design and build scalable backend systems integrating enterprise data, chatbots, and LLMs. Write, review, and optimize production-grade code in C# and Python . Integrate and fine-tune Azure OpenAI and related Cognitive Services for large-scale conversational workflows. Collaborate with other engineers, data scientists, and DevOps to ensure robust delivery pipelines. Define and enforce best practices in coding, security, and system design . Mentor developers and support the growth of technical expertise within the team. Drive continuous improvement in CI/CD, testing automation, and observability. What we’re looking for 8+ years of software engineering experience , including 2+ years in a lead or architect-level role . Strong proficiency in C# , Python , and Azure services (App Services, Functions, Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI). Proven, hands-on experience designing and implementing AI or GenAI solutions — such as LLM integrations, chatbots, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or other large-scale AI applications. Deep understanding of REST APIs , distributed systems , and secure, scalable cloud architecture . Experience with Azure DevOps , CI/CD pipelines , and automated testing. Solid knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases , data modeling, and performance optimization. Ability to translate business needs into technical designs for AI-driven systems. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams. Hands-on mindset — willing to code, prototype, and troubleshoot alongside the team. Nice to have: Experience with Microsoft Bot Framework , LangChain , or similar chatbot frameworks. Familiarity with vector databases , prompt engineering , or fine-tuning LLMs .
