You will work with business partners, internal and external partners, Cisco’s outsourced partners, and multi‑functional teams. As a Senior Software Engineer in the Embedded Licensing Solutions team, you will be an integral part of our embedded component team working with architects, tech leads, and business leads to develop and enhance our Embedded Licensing applications.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain Java‑based applications. Analyze software requirements and develop technical designs to meet objectives. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using Java while ensuring high‑quality standards. Participate in code reviews, ensuring best practices in software development.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to assist with software integration. Work with the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) team to troubleshoot software issues reported by customers. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, helping the team learn and continue improvement. Minimum Qualifications 7–8 years of extensive experience in the full cycle of software development using Java for enterprise applications.

Proficiency in multithreaded application development with deep knowledge of object‑oriented design and programming. Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms, and design and architectural patterns. Solid understanding of client/server applications, RESTful API development and integration. Strong problem‑solving and analysis skills with the ability and willingness to work on complex technical challenges and excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with code versioning tools (Git) and build tools (Jenkins). Knowledge of Agile principles and practice.

Experience

with relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) database technologies. Basic knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes). Advanced problem‑solving and debugging skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams.
