Carrier Manager

C.H. Robinson is hiring a Carrier Manager to join our dynamic team

As a Carrier Manager, you'll be the key point of contact for our customer's carriers, responsible for building strong relationships, monitoring performance, and driving continuous service improvements. In this role, you'll act as the customer's representative to the carrier, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

You'll work closely with the customer's internal team and our own account team, owning the operational relationship with the carriers. Success in this role requires excellent relationship-building skills, clear and confident communication, a solid grasp of service and cost metrics, and a deep understanding of the transportation industry. Strong project management capabilities are also essential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

• Collaborate to create performance improvement plans to carrier and track improvement to plan
• Work to continuously improve carrier management processes
• Manage carrier rates, lane bids and maintains master rate file
• Responsible for rate and invoice exception management in conjunction with the internal customer account team
• Publish and interpret carrier scorecards and service metrics
• Act as carrier escalation point to assist with the resolution of any open issues
• May participate in procurement projects including, but not limited to, data extraction, analysis, formatting, and presentation of rates and data related to pricing requests

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Minimum 4 years of carrier or project management experience in a logistics environment, ideally within 4PL/3PL
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with executive-level stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a continuous improvement mindset and a focus on process optimization
• Ability to travel up to 10% in Europe.

Preferred:

• Professional experience in Procurement, carrier sales, transportation, logistics, and/or Supply Chain
• Exceptional facilitation skills including but not limited to relationship management, presentation, documentation and accountability
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with various levels within customer
• Ability to identify, understand and execute based on market trends and pricing strategies
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
