Director of Risk Management

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Management Board, the Director of Risk Management will hold overall responsibility for establishing and maintaining a comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework; corporate, strategic, market, credit, and investment risk management across the Group. The role encompasses both strategic oversight and operational excellence in risk governance, ensuring alignment between the Group's risk profile and its long-term objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing the Group-wide Risk Management strategy, policies, and frameworks
• Integrating ERM processes across all subsidiaries and business lines within the Capital Group
• Defining and maintaining the Group's risk appetite and ensuring consistency between risk governance and strategic priorities
• Designing, enhancing, and maintaining methodologies, tools, and procedures supporting effective risk identification, assessment, and mitigation
• Measuring, monitoring, and reporting market risks, including interest rate, foreign exchange, and wholesale trading exposures
• Managing credit risk associated with trading and commercial operations
• Overseeing corporate risk management, including strategic, investment, and project risks
• Identifying and managing ESG and climate-related risks, ensuring alignment with the Group's sustainability strategy and regulatory requirements
• Evaluating the effectiveness of risk management processes and providing regular reports and recommendations to the Management Board and Audit Committee
• Building strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support informed strategic decision-making
• Promoting a strong risk awareness and compliance culture across the organization

Candidate Profile

We are seeking an experienced leader who combines deep technical expertise with strategic vision and strong leadership skills, capable of managing complex risk processes within a large, diversified corporate structure.

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in risk management within large organizations, ideally in the energy, utilities, or financial sectors
• Profound knowledge of corporate, strategic, market, credit, and investment risk management
• Proven success in designing and implementing ERM frameworks at a group or enterprise level
• Strong understanding of ESG, climate, and regulatory risk dimensions in the energy sector
• Demonstrated experience in leading and developing expert teams
• Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with the Management Board and senior stakeholders
• Fluent command of English (both spoken and written)
• University degree in finance, economics, management, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline; postgraduate or international qualifications (e.g., FRM, CFA, PRM) will be an advantage
