Position: IT Senior Manager – Data Management

Location: Warsaw / Hybrid

Company & Position Overview:

On behalf of our Client, a leading FMCG company undergoing a major Digital Transformation, we are seeking an experienced and hands-on IT Senior Manager – Data Management.

This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the company's data transformation agenda, establishing strong Data Governance foundations, designing modern data architecture, and implementing scalable, data-driven solutions that support business growth, efficiency, and innovation.

The selected candidate will lead key data initiatives, collaborate closely with business and IT stakeholders, and gradually build internal data competencies within the organization.

Scope of Duties:

  • Design, implement, and manage Data Governance and Data Management processes across the organization.
  • Develop and scale the company's data architecture, selecting technologies that support analytics, reporting, and business operations.
  • Conduct comprehensive AS-IS / TO-BE analyses and define the long-term data strategy for the organization.
  • Apply a hands-on approach to data projects, actively working with systems, data assets, and external vendors.
  • Manage and oversee external technology providers, ensuring quality and alignment with business needs.
  • Coordinate data initiatives with broader transformation programs, including SAP upgrades and SAP MDG implementation.
  • Build and lead a small but growing data competence team (data developers, technical specialists).
  • Collaborate with directors, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust data solutions.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or similar,
  • Min. 5–7 years of experience in data-related areas (data management, data architecture, BI/analytics) and at least 3 years in a data leadership.
  • Experience in FMCG or Retail industries is highly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing data architecture (Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Mesh).
  • Strong expertise in Data Governance, Data Quality, Master Data Management, including practical implementation.
  • Good knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP); familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, Databricks is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP; SAP MDG highly valued).
  • Knowledge of BI tools and data analytics (Power BI, Tableau) and strong proficiency in SQL.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, metadata management, and data integration.
  • Ability to translate business needs into effective data and technology solutions.
  • Experience working with and guiding cross-functional teams.
  • Strong capability to lead transformational initiatives and mentor technical staff.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to foster a data-driven culture across the organization.
  • Proactive mindset, strong ownership, and ability to operate independently.
  • Experience managing external vendors and/or building small data teams.
  • Fluency in Polish and English is required.
