General Purpose of the Position:
Responsible for calibrating, maintaining, and refurbishing a wide spectrum of equipment—such as welding machines, power supplies, HVTS units, surface preparation and blasting equipment, along with all related electrical and gas/air systems. Ensures optimal performance of welding and HVTS systems to deliver high-quality applications in compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). Performs thorough equipment checks, verifies parameters, and makes necessary adjustments to guarantee smooth operation on-site. Oversees refurbishment and readiness of all equipment between projects to ensure reliability, operational efficiency, and compliance with local regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform equipment maintenance and refurbishment in between the projects to ensure reliability and operational efficiency.
- Calibrate equipment to ensure optimum working conditions.
- Modify equipment as needed to meet specific application requirements.
- Ensure smooth equipment operation on site and assist Weld Operators and HVTS Technicians with equipment setup and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and use provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Comply with IGS and site-specific safety protocols and equipment operating procedures.
- Confirm all equipment is certified and maintains a comprehensive database of certificates.
Safety and Quality
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including internal and client-specific requirements.
- Identify unsafe work conditions and take immediate action to correct them or notify appropriate personnel to ensure workplace safety
Education and Experience Required:
- Secondary technical education or vocational training, preferably with an emphasis on welding or electrical equipment.
- Valid SCC certification or equivalent site safety training (an asset).
- Minimum of two years' experience in welding or automated overlay operations.
- Experience in field-based welding, preferably in power generation or refinery environments.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient with automated welding platforms (e.g., Encompass, Weldclad, Fronius).
- Able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and respond to unexpected situations.
- Advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Skilled in setting digital welding parameters and utilizing real-time monitoring tools.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of HSE standards and site-specific hazard mitigation.

- Willingness to travel for projects across Europe and internationally.

Effort/Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in challenging environments, including refineries, power plants, and industrial sites across Europe and internationally.
- Standard schedule consists of long hours, typically 12-hour shifts.
- Duties often require wearing full personal protective equipment (PPE), and working in confined spaces or at heights.
- Must be physically capable of navigating industrial worksites and meeting all health and safety entry requirements.
- Extensive travel is required (4–7 months per year), with most projects lasting 2–6 weeks, including international assignments
