Data Scientist – (Healthcare AI & NLU)

Location - Wroclaw (Flexible Working)

Salary - Competitive, based on experience

We are recruiting on behalf of our clients, leading global healthcare organisation, who, at the forefront of digital health innovation, is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join their AI and data science team.

They are pioneering next-generation natural language health information products and applications, leveraging cutting-edge AI, machine learning, and natural language understanding (NLU) to make healthcare smarter, safer, and more human-centered. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside world-class researchers, engineers, and clinicians on technologies that improve patient outcomes and empower healthcare professionals globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with domain experts, engineers, and stakeholders to translate healthcare and business needs into AI and machine learning solutions
  • Explore, process, and analyze diverse structured and unstructured healthcare datasets, including clinical and natural language data
  • Train, apply, and evaluate deep learning, LLM, and Agentic AI models for natural language and multimodal health applications
  • Ensure data privacy and compliance with regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA throughout the AI lifecycle
  • Communicate complex technical findings clearly and effectively to non-technical audiences

Required Skills and Experience

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field; or a Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience developing machine learning models with Python and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, and Transformers
  • Strong grounding in statistics and applied machine learning methods
  • Experience writing maintainable, reusable code for AI/ML applications, including Git, unit testing, and CI/CD practices
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms (preferably AWS)
  • Demonstrated experience applying LLMs, Agentic AI, or NLU in real-world healthcare or information systems
  • Proficiency in processing large-scale datasets using tools such as PySpark
  • Proven ability to work in interdisciplinary or research-driven environments
