About the Role

Apptopia is the world's leading provider of mobile app data for investors and hedge funds. Our data helps the largest investment firms make critical decisions on their investment portfolio.

We're looking for a highly motivated and resourceful Business Development Representative (BDR) to drive the top of the funnel for our App Publisher Partnerships team. This role focuses on sourcing, engaging, and qualifying mobile app publishers who may be strong candidates to partner with for our device panel dataset.

You will play a critical role in expanding our data supply, identifying new publisher segments, and booking high-quality introductory meetings for our Partnerships team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in outbound prospecting, understands the mobile app ecosystem, and can articulate the value of data-monetization opportunities to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Prospecting & Pipeline Generation
  • Identify, research, and build lists of high-quality mobile app publishers across iOS and Android ecosystems.
  • Map organizational structures to find the right decision-makers (typically founders, product leads, analytics leads, business development leads).
  • Execute personalized outbound sequences via email, LinkedIn, and other channels to drive conversations about data-monetization partnerships.
  • Conduct light qualification to ensure publishers meet our data requirements (app category, DAU/MAU thresholds, technical feasibility, geographic distribution, etc.).
Outreach & Messaging
  • Craft compelling outreach messaging that explains the value of monetizing user-behavior data through compliant, privacy-preserving channels.
  • Educate prospects on the benefits of entering data-partnership agreements (new revenue lines, passive monetization, industry contribution, etc.).
    Position our device panel and data-acquisition program clearly and confidently, handling common questions and objections.
Booking & Handoffs
  • Book intro meetings between qualified publishers and the Partnerships / Data Acquisition team.
    Maintain high conversion rates from outbound outreach demos- partnership pipeline.
    Ensure clean and thorough CRM documentation, including publisher profiles, technical notes, and qualification outcomes.
Collaboration & Strategy
  • Partner closely with Partnerships leadership to refine ICP criteria, prospecting filters, and outreach strategy.
  • Work with Product & Data teams to understand minimum technical requirements and communicate them accurately to prospects.
  • Share market intelligence—publisher pain points, ecosystem trends, feedback—to inform product and acquisition strategy.
Qualifications
Required
  • 1–3 years of experience in an outbound BDR/SDR role, ideally in B2B SaaS, MarTech, AdTech, or analytics.
  • Strong understanding of the mobile app ecosystem, or demonstrable ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent written communication and outbound messaging skills.
  • Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo/ZoomInfo, or similar prospecting tools.
  • Experience with cadence tools like Salesloft, Outreach, HubSpot Sales Pro or Lemlist
  • CRM proficiency (HubSpot or Salesforce).
    Track record of exceeding activity and meeting-setting targets.
Preferred
  • Experience engaging with mobile app publishers, developer studios, or digital media companies.
  • Understanding of mobile data, SDKs, privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA), and monetization models.
  • Prior exposure to data partnerships, programmatic advertising, or alternative data sales.
Success Metrics
  • Number of qualified meetings booked per month.
    Conversion rate from outreach- qualified conversation.
  • Growth of publisher pipeline quality and diversity.
  • Accuracy and consistency of CRM documentation.
  • Contribution to quarterly data-acquisition targets.
