Senior Software Engineer – Java

About the role

We are Develocraft, and we're looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to join our client's engineering team working on cutting-edge financial technology solutions. You'll take part in designing and building scalable backend systems and APIs that handle large amounts of data in secure cloud environments. If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges, care about clean, maintainable code, and want to grow within an international and collaborative environment this role is for you.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience programming in Java (Spring, Microservices, API development)
  • Good understanding or willingness to learn cloud technologies (preferably AWS)
  • Hands-on experience with Git, Jira, test automation, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid understanding of OOP principles and software design patterns
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous learning
  • Polish C1 / English B2

Nice to have

  • Experience with AWS, Terraform, or CloudFormation
  • Knowledge of Docker and containerization tools
  • Understanding of IT security (HTTPS, certificates, encryption)
  • Experience working in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, etc.) or with sensitive data

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based services and APIs in a cloud environment (AWS)
  • Collaborate with the team to build scalable and reliable backend solutions
  • Work with modern development practices - Git, Jira, automated testing, CI/CD
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing systems and processes
  • Ensure data protection and compliance with internal security policies
