The Role

Senior Developer
in the
Customer Centric Engineering
team, you'll work across both development and live customer support to keep mission-critical scientific systems running smoothly.

This is a hands-on Ruby on Rails position where you'll balance planned feature work with rapid bug fixes and production support for a platform trusted by scientists and engineers worldwide.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and maintain backend systems using
  Ruby
  and
  Ruby on Rails
• Handle live customer issues, urgent bug fixes, and production escalations
• Collaborate with QA, product, and support teams to diagnose and resolve high-impact issues
• Contribute to new feature delivery, performance optimisation, and platform maintenance
• Participate in
  Agile sprints
  and fortnightly product releases
• Manage competing priorities while maintaining code quality and reliability

Non-Negotiables:

• 3–4+ years of commercial
  Ruby on Rails
  experience
• Broad technical background including
  JavaScript
  and
  databases
• Strong communication skills
• Proven ability to
  context-switch
  and perform under pressure
• Collaborative, proactive mindset with strong problem-solving ability
