Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Developer to join the Delta One Front Office Technology team supporting our Equities Delta One trading business. This is a front-office engineering role, working directly with traders, quants, and product controllers to deliver cutting-edge trading and risk technology.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing real-time pricing, trade capture, and risk platforms used in synthetic equity swaps, ETFs, dividend arbitrage, and index arbitrage trading. This role is ideally suited for a technologist who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading floor environment and understands the unique challenges of Delta One markets — low-latency execution, high-volume flow, and real-time risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance front-office Java systems supporting Delta One trading desks (synthetic equity, ETF, index, and dividend strategies).
• Build and maintain real-time pricing engines for equity and index baskets, futures, and swap products.
• Collaborate directly with Delta One traders and quantitative developers to implement pricing models, hedging logic, and risk tools.
• Design low-latency market data ingestion, order routing, and execution logic to support high-frequency Delta One trading.
• Support real-time PnL, exposure, and Greeks computation frameworks across multiple asset classes.
• Implement and maintain trade capture and booking components integrated with middle- and back-office systems.
• Build scalable services and microservices to support synthetic swap lifecycle management, including trade events, resets, and unwind logic.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture design, and performance tuning for production systems.
• Act as a senior technologist on the desk, mentoring junior engineers and ensuring high code quality and reliability.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of Java development experience, with at least 4 years in front-office trading systems.
• Deep expertise in core Java (Java 11+) multithreading, memory management, performance optimization, and GC tuning.
• Proven track record delivering low-latency, high-throughput trading systems for Delta One or equities businesses.
• Strong understanding of Delta One products (swaps, ETFs, futures, custom baskets) and trading/risk workflows.
• Experience with real-time pricing and risk systems — including data distribution, pricing feeds, and position aggregation.
• Proficiency in Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Solid SQL and database experience (Oracle, PostgreSQL) with knowledge of in-memory data grids (e.g. Hazelcast, Redis).
• Strong knowledge of messaging and event-driven architectures (Kafka, Solace, Tibco EMS).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — able to interact directly with traders and quants under time pressure.

Delta One Product & Business Exposure

• Synthetic Equity Swaps – pricing and lifecycle management of total return swaps (TRS), including financing, reset, and unwind processes.
• ETF Market Making & Arbitrage – integration with market data feeds, NAV calculation, and hedging automation across ETFs and underlying baskets.
• Index Arbitrage – exposure to algorithmic and semi-automated strategies for index replication and delta hedging.
• Dividend Arbitrage / Futures Roll – handling of dividend, financing, and carry components within PnL and risk systems.
• Synthetic Financing & Cross-Asset Delta One – collaboration with prime services and synthetic financing teams to manage positions and exposure.
